The three managers looked at the significant budget challenges the district faces and the formulation of a recovery plan in the first 90 minutes of the presentation. It also came out that the Internal Revenue Service is conducting what Kirk-Carter noted was a “unprecedented” investigation into the districts’ books.
The remainder was a question-and-answer session that for the most part saw a long line of teachers, students, parents and residents vent their frustrations at how the district had come to be taken over by the state.
